CAREER
After graduating the College of Law, assistant-professor in Public International Law at the University of Bucharest College of Law
Also teaches European Construction and Organizations at the French-Romanian College of Law established jointly by the Universities of Bucharest and Paris I-Sorbonne
In 1997, visiting professor of the University of Paris I-Sorbonne.
Several years independent lawyer within the Bucharest Bar, currently suspended as he holds a public office.
Adviser to the Minister of Justice of Romania in 1997
Between 1997 and 1999 appointed as Romanian Government’s Agent to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. During this time he also acted as consultant appointed by the Council of Europe to support Ukrainian and Moldavian authorities in their preparation for
participation in the European human rights protection system.
Between February 1997 and February 2000 member of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI), advisory body to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of
Europe
December 1999 - January 2001 - Chief-negotiator for Romania’s accession to the European Union, ranked as State Secretary
within the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Romania.
Previously, held the position of State Secretary within the former Department for European Integration of the Government of Romania.
Published several articles in legal and political science periodicals.
