1956-1958 - University Assistant
1958-1967 - University Lecturer
Since 1967 - University Professor at different economic faculties in Bucharest
1968-1973 - Member of the scientific group for the elaboration of the first Romanian input-output
analysis using USA practices
1972-1978 - First Vice President of the State Planning Committee
April 1981-October 1982 - President of the State Planning Committee (resigned as a consequence of the rejection of his proposals for
the restructuring of the Romanian economy)
1983-1988 - Vice President of the National Council for Science and
Technology
1993-1995, 1998 - Member of the Economic Consultative Group of
the Romanian Presidency
Since 1990 - Senior researcher and Member of the Scientific Council of the National Institute for
Economic Research of the Romanian Academy.
Here developed a macro-model, currently utilized by
the National Bank of Romania and also used to elaborate the scenarios included in the
“Romanian National Strategy of Medium-Term Economic Development" (1999)
Since 1990 - Coordinator of the “Macromodelling Seminar” organized
by the National Institute for Economic
Research (Romanian Academy)
