  • 1959-1960 - Studies in Philosophy, University of Bucharest
  • 1966 - Master of Arts in Polish Philology at the University of Warsaw with the Thesis "Tadeusz Hyszdew, an Enlightenment poet", published in Przeglad Humanisticzny, Polish Academy of Science
  • 1971 - PhD in Humanistic Sciences, University of Warsaw
  • 2006 - Dr. of Science in Humanistic Field, Romanian Academy of Sciences, Bucharest

  • 1975-1981 - Second Secretary, First Secretary for Cultural and Press Relations at the Romanian Embassy in Warsaw
  • 1981-1984 - Head of Central European Desk, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • 1985-1986 - First Secretary of the Romanian Embassy in Poland
  • 1987-1988 - Director of the Romanian Cultural Center in Paris
  • 1989 - Counselor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs
