Cluj-Napoca, Cluj County as Dana Liliana Ciuca. Artistic name: Liliana Mattei
(after her mother)
Studies
- 1975-1988 - starts her musical formation at the age of 6, at the Musical High School
in Cluj-Napoca
- 1975-1985 - violin and piano, with professor Mariana Suma
- 1985-1988 -.classical canto with her first professor, Magda Barabas, who encouraged her
to seek admission at the Academy of Music, Cluj-Napoca
- 1988-1993 - "Gheorghe Dima" Academy of Music, Cluj-Napoca.
- 1991- master-classes with prof. Luisa Bosabalian, at "Franz Liszt"
Music School in Weimar, Germany
- 1992 - master classes with prof. Aldo Baldin ath Opera Theatre in Lippstadt
- 1992-1993 - canto art master classes with professors Gertrude Gunther and
Elisabeth Baumgarten, at Internationale Bachakademie in Stuttgart, and with
the lyric artist (bariton) Ionel Pantea and prof. Lucia Stanescu at the Academy of Music in
Cluj-Napoca
- 1993-1996 - canto and opera courses with professor Ionel Pantea and
artistic oratorio courses with professor Georges Backes, Conservatory of
Luxembourg. Other professors here: Pierre Cao, Fernand Jung, Irene Birmann
- 1996-1997 - studies of lyric art with master Kurt Malm, Hochakademie,
Vienna
- 1997-2002 - canto studies with master Leo
Müller in Vienna
- 2000-2002 - canto studies with soprano Editha Gruberova, Munchen and Vienna
Artistic Career
started as soloist in children's choirs during the
school years. Also participated at various musical competitions for the
young voices.
1991 - debut on the stage of Opera Theatre in Cluj-Napoca,
as Cherubino in "Wedding of Figaro", by W.A.Mozart; also Olga, in
"Eugene Oneghin" by P.I.Tchaikovski
1992 - Cherubino, in Figaro's Wedding, by W.A.Mozart
1993 - Gabriela
1993-1997 - soloist at numerous opera recitals and concerts
in Romania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Poland, Germany, Russia, with philharmonics
conducted by Asher Fisch, Joshard Daus, Petre Sbarcea, Norbert Nozy, Pierre
Cao or together with worldwide known artists like Barbara Hendricks,
Isabelle Kabatu, Ionel Pantea and Camille Kerger
