Former Ambassador
Born: November 3, 1924, Silistra, Durostor County (today
in Bulgaria)
Family: the father, Petru Nicolae Marin, was a
merchant and the owner of "Cristalul" Restaurant, Silistra. Part of
the first generation born in Cadrilater of the shepherd Petru Nicolae, from
Marginimea Sibiului (Tilisca). Mother, Louiza, was the daughter of a
Romanian woman from Bucharest and of a Bulgarian employee at the City of
Silistra. A sister, Stela Gheorghiu, used to be an employee at the
Institute of Hydro-Energetic Studies and Design in Bucharest
Married (1951) to Maria David, engineer (specialty
industrial chemistry), graduate of the Polytechnic Institute of Iasi, specialist
for electrotechnical materials

1935-1940 - High School in Silistra. In 1940, evacuated from
Silistra, following the Treaty of Craiova, that was surrendered to
Bulgaria.

Bucharest, with prof. Alexandru Theodorescu

an intense publishing activity in specialized magazines and
later on in the press, especially in "Revista Economica" (Economic
Review), on subjects concerning the developments and trends in the foreign
trade

1987 - together with an expert team, elaborates a monograph
concerning the impact of the technical progress on the international trade
and, particularly, on the Romanian foreign trade, but due to the monograph
conclusions, it has never been published before 1989, but only after this
date, as a series in "Timpul 7 zile" Weekly.
