  • 1965-1970 - University Assistant, University of Iasi

  • 1970-1975 - Representative of Romania to the World Federation of Democratic Youth (Budapest)

  • 1980-1989 - Expert in foreign affairs at the General Secretariat of the Government

  • December 1989 - June 1990 - Personal Assistant on foreign affairs to the Vice-Prime Minister of the Interim Government, Academician Mihai Draganescu

  • 1990-1994 - Director on Foreign Relations at the Romanian Academy

  • 1994-1996 - Secretary of State, Head of the Department for European Integration of the Romanian Government and Executive Chairman of the Inter-ministerial Committee for European Integration

  • 1994-1996 - National Coordinator of the non reimbursable assistance granted to Romanian by G-24 and PHARE Program of the European Union
