- 1968 - Special training in in Structural Geology at Sorbonne, Paris, France
- 1972 - PhD (Doctor Engineer) at the Institute of Oil, Gas and Geology, Bucharest
Career
- 1966-1974 - researcher, Geological Institute of Bucharest
- 1966-1974 - head of department, Geological Institute of Bucharest
- 1966-1970 - scientific secretary of the Geological Institute of Romania
- 1970-1995 - head of the Geological Maps Department of the Geological Institute
- Since 1994 - Professor at the Bucharest University
Scientific Activity
The most important part of the scientific activity was developed in
the Geological Institute of Romania, but also at the University and in
some international scientific organizationsBasic researches
- tectonic structure of the Alpine folded belts of Central and South East
Europe deep structure of the Romanian Carpathians and their Foreland, the
paleogeographic-palinspastic evolution of the Carpathian-Balkan Area and
the Black Sea basin during the Permian, Mesozoic and Cenozoic
- stratigraphy of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic formations of the East Carpathians
- compared analyses of the orogenic folded belts, using field researches in
Carpathians, Alps, Dinarides, Balkan, Caucasus, Tian Shan, Tibet and Himalayas,
Tsing Ling Mts., Betic Chains and Morrocco Rif, were realized

- Vice-President of the Societe Geologique de France (1972)
