Held Positions

  • 1970-1988 - Scientific research military officer at the Center of Historical Studies and Researches and Military Theory of the Defense Ministry
  • 1988 - March 1990 - Editor-in-chief of the Military Publishing House
  • March 1990 - July 1990 - Director of the Military Publishing House
  • July 1990 - April 1992 - Presidential Adviser to the President of Romania
  • 1994-1997 - Director of Foreign Intelligence Service, with ministerial rank
  • 1997-1998 - Ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria
  • Since December 2000 - Head of the National Security Department, Chief of the Presidential Administration

Scientific Activity

  • As military historian, developed a wide-range activity in the field of Romanian history, also approaching Romania's foreign policy in inter-war period. Author of numerous articles, studies, books published in Romania and abroad
